Factors influencing nurses’ attitudes towards healthcare information technology.
Saturday, February 25, 2012
The
evaluation was conducted through a search of several online medical databases
with returned articles assessed for pertinence and applicability. The analysis
of derived information concluded that nurse attitudes toward information
technology are generally positive and that superior computer experience
correlates with positive attitudes as a primary indicator. Nurse attitudes toward IT in their practice
are negatively influenced, however, by fear that the execution of technology
will dehumanize patient-centered care as well as substandard system design and
system slowdown.(1)
